BODIES
With a growing love of culture and community, I was lucky enough to be able to spend the summer of 2012 in Istanbul and Izmir, Turkey, learning about the culture and experiencing this lifestyle, which flourished my inspiration for my Bodies photography project. "Bodies is about the joining of communities and cultures without boundaries. No matter the skin color, language, religion, or economical status of a person, we can all come together to be the best we can be." The project focuses on images of skin and bodies which become abstracted based on the black and white color and the close-up angles. The only thing the viewer knows is that it is part of a human being. They don't know who this is or what their personality is, which turns the person photographed into an object instead of a person with a personality. This contributes to the fact that we are all the same on the outside.
